The award is given to young researchers for outstanding contributions presented during the association&#8217;s annual congress. <!--newsroom--> <!--more Weiterlesen--><br \/>\nIn his study, Markus shows how motivated reasoning\u2014our tendency to hold biased beliefs\u2014 plays a substantial role in driving discrimination and that traditional information interventions are ineffective in countering these biased beliefs. Through a series of experiments, Markus unravels the relationship between motivated beliefs and ethnic discrimination.
